They sold their estate in 1957 to a group of Sarasota Yacht Club members who turned it into a private club, remodeling the house, adding tennis courts and a swimming pool, and expanding the docks.
Today, the Field Club is one of Sarasota’s oldest private establishments, serving about 600 members, many from Oyster Bay, and providing a prestigious, historic anchor for the neighborhood.
